The first episode of Cruel Summer Season 2 established a love triangle between Meghan’s best friend Luke and newcomer Isabella.
Cruel Summer 2 Episode 2 was released on June 5, and here’s what you need to know about the episode. Is a friendship that burns as bright as this doomed to die out?
Cruel Summer had one bold feature in both seasons: the series decided to stick with its main characters throughout the episodes, sparing practically no subplots for any of the supporting actors.
Additionally, when these side characters receive multiple storylines, they often emerge from the protagonist’s perspective, indicating that the show wanted viewers to focus totally on the female duo that follows it.
It’s a bold storytelling attempt; however, like Season 1, it causes some problems in Season 2.
Cruel Summer End 2 Episode 2 Explained.
Why did Isabella fall in love with Meghan?

The first episode of Cruel Summer Season 2 established a love triangle between Meghan’s best friend Luke and newcomer Isabella, and the second episode just confused matters.

The s*x movie that went viral was between Meghan and Luke’s boyfriend, not Isabella, as everybody in town believed.
Given Meghan’s response to both parties after the premiere, it was confusing at first, but the only explanation is that Meghan was unhappy with the footage that was released.
Isabella agrees to keep this a secret and fall in love with Meghan so that her scholarship does not get cancelled, even if it means becoming a city prostitute and being the focus of everybody’s attention.
Who filmed the s*x tape?

Most of “Ride or Die” investigates who might have made the tape, and two options emerge: Brent, Luke’s scheming brother who has a habit of filming his girls, and Jeff, an emerging peer group filmmaker.
It does not take long for everybody to think about Brent, alerted by his ex-girlfriend who accuses him of trying to do it with her, and Isabella breaks into their house to throw away their other VHS tapes.
He’s not afraid of the implications (he practically destroys the planter through his glass door), and they are people you do not want to walk past.
But, in this case, he appears to be right: Brent admitted it when their father interrogated them both, but Luke later claimed that Brent did not know it was Meghan, despite filming it.
It remains to be clarified whether Brent is giving away the entire truth, and we would not be surprised if he walked out on Meghan in the future.
Who killed Luke?

Isabella blames Meghan but also has feelings for Luke. Meghan was jealous when he seduced her at a pool party in July 1999.
Isabella also found a pill bag in Meghan’s suitcase, resurfacing in 2000 when Luke’s body was being autopsied.
There was a lot to learn between then and December when Meghan and Luke met, but it shaped the narrative of the two women’s obsession.
Meghan asked Isabella to do something with it, and she called it a ‘ride or die’ before jumping off a cliff and into the water; in this episode, Isabella overhears Meghan repeating these titular words to Luke and apparently goes to tell Meghan’s mother the reality about the s*x tape in retaliation.
Authorities discovered in 2000 that Luke was murdered before being thrown into the lake and his body was not only riddled with gunshot holes but also with sleeping pills to guarantee he wouldn’t survive.
Isabella intended to leave town, but was thwarted when the police decided to question everybody about the mysterious murders, and it was discovered that Luke was last seen at the New Year’s party.
Cruel Summer gets a soapy twist in a tit-for-tat altercation between Isabella and the sheriff, who has investigated her past and discovered that she attended three different schools in three years. However, it remains unclear who killed Luke.
