Charlie Brooker, creator of Black Mirror, is launching a dual impact return to Netflix with a mockumentary series in addition to Season 6 of the recently announced hit anthology series.
Under the Netflix and BBC agreement, Brooker will make Cunk on Earth, starring Diane Morgan as Philomena Cunk, one of her most iconic characters.
Cunk on Earth was created by Charlie Brooker and Annabell Jones‘ private company Broke & Bones, who also worked on the Netflix special Death to 2021 in which Morgan also appears.
Ben Caudell, Jason Hazeley, Joel Morris, and Brooker are all co-authors; Jones and Ali Marlow are also executive producers.
Cunk on Earth Season 2: Who is Philomena Cunk?
The fictional character Philomena Cunk, played by Diane Morgan, is a journalist who digs up everything.
He presents himself as being deliberately stupid when interacting with certain individuals, causing scenarios that are both nasty and humorous. like Sacha Baron Cohen’s portrayal of Borat Sagdiyev.
Cunk debuted on the BBC in 2013 and continued to write his own piece on Charlie Brooker’s Weekly Wipeout until 2016. Cunk ultimately received his own program, Cunk on Britain, which aired from 2016 to 2018.
Additionally, Cunk appeared briefly on the 2019 television shows Cunk & Other Humans and the 2020 Covid special Charlie Brooker Wipeout Weekly.
