Taishi Shoji (Tori Matsuzaka) and popular television actress Yui (Riisa Naka) tries to reconcile when the previous is seen in public with a young reporter, Sakurako (Lisa Oda).
However, their circumstances didn’t allow for a clean divorce, so numerous personal dramas and conflicting subplots conspired against the divorce over the course of nine too-long episodes.
Let’s Divorce: Are Taishi and Yui Divorcing?

Despite working tirelessly and doing everything in his power, Taishi was beaten by Soda by several hundred votes. It tore at his heart, but he kept thanking everybody who had supported him, and his team cheering for him.
While Taishi and Yui are alone, he gives her the divorce papers which they both finalize. Taishi did not argue when Yui told him they should file one. They recalled their happy memories and filed paperwork. Taishi and Yui ultimately divorce.


What happened to Taishi and Yui’s child?

Taishi’s mother still cannot accept Taishi and Yui’s divorce. She wants to raise Taishi and Yui’s child, but Yui refuses to allow it because she feels politics is corrupting Taishi’s character.
Taishi supports Yui’s decision, and Taishi’s mother finally agrees. Yui gives birth to a son, whom she names Yoji. Although Yui has custody of Yoji, Taishi’s mother takes care of him because Yui is usually away from work.
Will Taishi and Yui reconcile?

Taishi is preparing for his political comeback three years after Yoji’s birth. While learning and growing as a politician more than ever before, he faces financial difficulties because he’s unemployed.
On the other hand, Yui continues to gain international popularity and reputation. Taishi and Yui contemplate their divorce one night. While Taishi admits that he realized he loved her before they parted ways, Yui confesses that she would like to marry him if he were to marry again.
On the other hand, Yui feels that their marriage was a mistake and it would be better if they did not get married again. Nothing happened between them, and Taishi left his flat later that night, his son and he grieving for one another.
Will Taishi be elected in 2026?

As the election approaches, Soda starts repeating Taishi’s remarks about BSL-4. He sold the place to a private company. Taishi discovers that the company is compensating Soda because he sold the facility at a low price and receives a percentage of the company’s revenue in return.
Taishi tells Kyoji, who is no longer an unemployed artist but a blogger covering the election. Taishi is ready to spread the word with his help, and Soda is forced to leave his party and resign from his position in Congress.
Taishi developed into a capable politician with a lot of supporters. Yui also dresses up as Mikochan and comes to his aid at the end of the campaign. Taishi won the election himself this time.
While Taishi works tirelessly to keep his promise to the citizens of Ehime and improve their lives, Yui finds love again. Taishi also looks for Yoji four days a week and thinks that one’s life can be rebuilt.
