How is the plot of Grown and Gospel?

It follows the life stories of five career-driven childhood friends and how all of them hustle and try really hard to get out of the shadow of their prominent and very famous parents as they try to triumph over Detroit’s gospel scene.
It is evident that kids don’t want to be known only by the identity of their parents, but they want to form their own identity. Now that is the series’ quiet progressive storyline.
