Samsung Galaxy S22 ultra review: If you missed the Samsung Note series 2021, the Samsung Galaxy S22 ultra will be your last chance to get it. This is a high-end hand-on that was not available before.
Before the official Samsung XK unpacking event at King’s Cross London, we must have a thorough discussion about the Galaxy S22 Ultra. These are our initial thoughts about what it has to provide.
- IP68 Weather/dust resistance
- Below the fingerprint display
- Integrated S Pen Stylus (2.8ms late).
- Color: Phantom Black, White Burgundy, Green
- Dimensions: 77.9×163.3×8.9mm / Weight 229g
The Ultra is quite different from the Galaxy S22+ and S22+. It is also the largest model of the three, which gives it a high level of elegance. It also has curved screen edges that are not found in other models, which gives it a unique style.
It looks a lot like the Galaxy Note20 Ultra front. It is entirely different from Samsung’s design and camera layout. The majority of lenses at the upper corner are deeper than they were before. This makes them easier to use and allows for more enclosure.
It is beautiful to use the selected color as the light source between the lenses. The Phantom Black is the smallest option of the four, but you can also choose from white, green or burgundy. The Pink Gold option, S22+ and S22+ will not be available (we don’t think it will be missed).
It should not be surprising that the Ultra does not have a 3.5mm headphone socket. However, the fact storage capacity is far more important than buying after microSD extensions is a good thing. This is a great standard for flagships these days. However, you can add IP68 dust and waterproof resistance and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ to increase durability.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra design is reminiscent of the beautiful, old Note Ultra. However, its refined camera design and versatility really set it apart from other S22 models.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Performance
- 6.8-inch dynamic AMOLED 2X panel
- QHD + resolution (1440 x 3080)
- 120Hz refresh rate (variable)
- 1750 Night HighLight
- Design for the hem: curved
The Galaxy S22+ and S22+ models have flat displays. They also have rounded corners which determine the screen area. The S22 Ultra Well Curved edge panel gives the Galaxy S22 and S22+ models a truly unique theme. It appears to be a completely new phone because it was made for a different series.
It is up to you whether or not you like the idea. However, many manufacturers are now looking for flat panels. Curved panels are more susceptible to light and color fading, and are more likely be involved in an accident.
Samsung’s smart software is capable of preventing accidental touch. As far as we can tell, the screen is very attractive and attracts many people’s attention. These smooth edges also make it easier to grip at 6.8 inches.
Additional features include overall 1750 knit high lighting. The AMOLED panel’s colors are stunning. The whites are very bright and clean while the blacks look as rich and deep as any smartphone. You can also make significant adjustments to the panel, including QHD + 500ppi density and much more.
Samsung is a leader in upgrades. The device has a 120Hz panel that allows for handset updates to be displayed on the screen automatically once per second, or as many times as 120 times per second depending on the material. Uninterrupted. We suspect that if a Korean company increases to 144Hz and 165Hz, the gain will be less and have a negative effect on battery life.
Details about Hardware
Samsung Exynos 2200 (UK, Europe, Asia) / Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (USA)
8GB RAM with 128GB storage, or 12GB RAM 256/512GB/1TB storage option
5000mAh Battery Capacity. 45W Fast Charging. 15W Wireless Charging.
The battery is a 5,000mAh one. This is exactly what you would expect from a scale like this. You can also charge your phone wirelessly at 45W and 15W, or slow wirelessly at 15W.
What you might not know is that Samsung’s Exynos 2200 processor has been released over the S22 Ultra (including the UK) – the USA receives Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen instead.
- Four rear cameras
- Main: 108 megapixels, f / 1.8 aperture, dual pixel autofocus (PDAF), optical stabilization (OIS)
- Diameter (120 degrees): 12MP, f / 2.2
- Zoom (3x), 10MP, f / 2.4. PDAF, OIS
- Zoom (10x), 10MP, f / 4.9. PDAF, OIS
- Front camera: 40MP, F / 2.2
The rear camera design has been described in detail, but what about its lens? If you are already a S21 Ultra user, this first reading might seem depressing, as all four cameras provide the same solution.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is a completely new model. It looks amazing with the S Pen stylus integration and its unique viewing style.
Many people will agree that this is a great tool, especially when it comes to the pen. However, some people prefer the tilted visual appeal of a big screen, and they may never use the S Pen skill again. It is not the right tool for everyone.
We think that the design, with its reduced lens protrusion, is a great visual aid. However, other important features, such as central camera enhancements or some shooting techniques, show that it isn’t perfect. The series’ resume is a finely crafted refinement.
