The Last of Us Episodes 6 and 7 released last week, and here are some details you may have missed. Last week’s episode of Last of Us was perhaps the series’ darkest and most tragic yet.
Fortunately, episode six, “Kin”, provides some relief to the tone and shows us enough moments of optimism and opportunity to live in a post-cordyceps world to convince us that it’s still possible to create significant lives for ourselves.
What Happened in The Last of Us Episode 6 Review and Explanation.

Let’s look at understanding episode 6 of this series.
Starting with a flashback to Henry’s horrific death after Episode 5, Episode 6 then jumps forward three months, where winter has fallen wherever Joel and Ellie are in Wyoming.
To gather information, they capture a Native couple, who explain that the scenery will only get worse from here and that anything west of a certain river will possibly die too.
They found several survivors on horses around them as they continued to wander. Ellie and Joel are deemed clean by their smelly dog, but they’re still hesitant to let them in until a lady asks Joel his name.
The brothers only reunite when it’s discovered they’re from Tommy’s commune. Maria is a mysterious woman; they became partners after Tommy left Fireflies.
Ellie leaves a community screening of The Farewell Girl in disguise so she can hear Joel talk. It seemed to him that Joel would leave him, but a last-minute change of heart allowed Joel to give Ellie the decision. He would go with Joel for the rest of the trip because that was what he wanted.
The two arrive at the establishment on horses confiscated from the neighborhood only to find it abandoned and overrun with fugitive lab monkeys. They find a map pointing to Salt Lake City, but muggers attack them before they can continue.
Joel managed to break the neck of the person who caught him. He, unfortunately, didn’t escape unscathed as he stabbed himself without realizing it. Ellie put Joel on their horse out of harm’s way, but after a while, Joel passed out, and Ellie did not know what to do or where to go.
Ellie needed this ending, even if it was brutal and shocking: right after admitting she needed Joel, he abruptly disappeared. Hopefully, he’ll keep Joel in check next week and make it to their new goal in Salt Lake City.

What can we expect from episode 7 “Last of us”: Trailer Explanation
Left Behind is the title of the next episode of The Last of Us. Liza Johnson is directing, and Neil Druckmann is writing the script.
According to the promo, Ellie’s origin story will be thoroughly explored in future episodes. He attended FEDRA’s Boston QZ campus before joining Joel. He is shown running on a basketball court with his friends and hanging out with a girl his age, who looks very similar.
Ellie has previously admitted to Joel that she has killed someone, and the trailer suggests we may see an analogous story unfold ahead of her first hunt. He can even be seen hanging out with a friend in an abandoned mall crammed with clickers.
Ellie states that she committed her first murder in this mall but alone. This episode will provide information and possibly act as a foundation for Ellie’s character.
