“The Lazarus Project” takes a new look at time travel. The Lazarus project initially debuted Sky Max in 2022, is an exciting new sci-fi series by Joe Barton that mixes high-stakes action with deep moral dilemmas.
The titular organization is a group of agents who travel across time to stop catastrophic events.
While this has saved the world several times, it has also hardened his agent against the truth of loss – that’s, until a new agent with very personal motives for wanting an extra time loop finds himself tested by the restrictions of his newfound responsibility.
Project Lazarus: What caused this time jump?
Three weeks to Hamburg, where George shoots Shiv in his flat three weeks before the Checkpoint reset, Janet is present, together with this agent Zhang.
Shiv appears to stop Janet when she uncuffs herself, and the two escape. Shiv finds a message from Janet that reads “It will be worth the wait,” which explains the bloodstained paper George found in Shiv’s jacket.
In the present, George is summoned to Project Lazarus when two Black Holes collide. This is what causes the explosion.
Unfortunately, this seems out of control for them, so they’ve to repeat the same three weeks non-stop until they can come up with a solution.
George believes that the collapsing black hole was someone’s actions that caused it to occur on Earth. Janet appears to be the only person smart enough to pull off something like this, and if Zhang has her it seems the Chinese are in on it.
Is Shiv still alive? What did he say to George?
George rushed to the door, asking Reggie, a paramedic, to come and save him. When Shiv’s life is at risk, Janet works alone to repair machines at the location that Zhang and Archie are attempting to infiltrate, guarded by Chinese agents.
Zhang and Archie work together to save him, but when they get to the room where he’s being held… it’s empty.
Reggie brings Shiv back to England long enough to convince George that “Rebrov is the key”. Dennis Rebrov appeared on Project Lazarus shortly after this and explained what happened.
He tells Wes and the others about the password he is been using with Janet all along. In their code language, “It was worth the wait.” translates to “I’m in trouble, and I need your help.” “Meet me.”
How did Project Lazarus end?
Unfortunately, the problem with the Chinese is much deeper than we can imagine. Archie and Zhang are in the right place… but at a different moment.
Someone seems to have found a way to break the checkpoint and bring Janet back. He was in fact in London in 2012.
And paradoxically, the message Rebrov received on his phone at the start of the show was from Janet. Rebrov bravely convinces the Lazarus Project that they need his help to get Janet back.
But if that wasn’t enough to intrigue you, Sarah shows up at George’s apartment. Shiv sat up, Reggie was shocked, and George looked at him. He took the serum and is now a part of it.
