Finding a well-written love drama that does not overdo the drama and delivers on the promise of the titular character is at all times heartening.
In “Somebody I Used to Know,” which is similar to an adult love drama, some people reflect on the past to learn from their mistakes and successes and how certain choices have affected their lives. Is anything getting better or worse?
Explanation of Ending Someone I Used to Know

Ally learns that her show has been renewed for a fourth season when she returns to her room. Sean came to see him before he had time to rejoice.
After a brief conversation, it is obvious that he still lacks respect for his goals and considers his work aspirations to be immature. Was he expected to put his life on hold while he was only hours away from marrying another woman?
Ally met Cassidy after the fight because it really helped her understand a few things. She acknowledges the challenging nature of her profession but encourages her to never give up on herself for a man.
The women put their differences aside and drew inspiration from one another’s stories and experiences in what can only be described as female solidarity.
The next morning, Sean knocks on the door while Ally is still in Cassidy’s room. He apologized to Cassidy when she asked him about his purpose for being there.
He attributes his behavior with her to previous experiences, and Cassidy tells him that she intends to keep playing in his band and touring even after they marry. Sean accepted it all. We sincerely applaud Cassidy for standing his ground, but we still find Sean’s justifications pathetic.
Even Ally turned him down for her show, so we do not think she’s really changed; on the contrary, she is afraid of being left alone. However, Ally admits to Cassidy that she invited her parents.
Even although Cassidy warned him that what he did was wrong, he forgave him anyway. After everything is put back in its place, Ally leaves, but not before she and Sean make amends.
Her mother encouraged her to never lose faith in herself and to work hard for people to respect and understand her. On top of that, she said that Sean was never an ideal partner for her.
We think she’s mistaken for Cassidy, but Ally gets the video of their wedding while she’s flying. While his grin suggests he is happy for the couple, we’d laugh if we were in his shoes because the likes of Sean are nowhere to be seen.
At the end of the film, Ally is still doing interviews and advancing her profession. Social media posts reveal Cassidy is expecting a child and is traveling as planned with Sean by her side.
Also, Ally receives an invite to go on a date from her old infatuation, and she has progressed to repair her relationship with her mother.
